2018 marks the one-hundredth anniversary of the death of the Swiss artist Ferdinand Hodler whose works enjoy international acclaim. The MAH has decided to pay tribute to him by putting on a programme of exhibitions and events throughout the year.

On the occasion of d’Hodler, le roi du selfie, more than 2,500 images will be collected to create a digital fresco aiming to reproduce a self-portrait of the artist using the public’s own selfies.

The project will run from 18 January to 18 February 2018. The selfies can be posted online on the site dedicated to this initiative www.hodlerselfie.ch or via an Instagram account (in public mode) using the hashtag: #hodlerselfie.

The 2nd of March the digital mosaic will be unveiled on the site and reproduced on one of the façades of Geneva’s Museum of Art and History.
