Seizing Opportunities in Times of Geopolitical and Economic Uncertainty: Alternative Assets

Leveraging Christian Skaanild’s visit to Singapore in March of 2025, the Bordier & Cie Singapore team were delighted to host two intimate discussions on alternative assets. In partnership with Sygnum Bank, the events on 19 and 20 March welcomed about 30 guests each, with one event for external asset managers and the other for clients.

The events kicked off with an opening by Valérie d’Argembeau followed by a briefing by Christian Skaanild who discussed Private Equity and the very unique PE Club set up by Bordier & Cie. Fabian Dori, CIO at Sygnum Bank AG then shared key insights on digital assets, its evolution and the emerging use cases. They both concluded with a time of networking over food and wine.

As a treat for clients, 2 singers from New Opera Singapore graced the evening with beautiful voices that resonated through the office. The two sessions were very well received by clients and has driven greater momentum in our client engagement.

Celebrating our accomplishments in Private Banking

June was an exciting month for Bordier & Cie Singapore as we celebrated three new Awards.

On 4th June, our team attended the Awards dinner to receive our recognitions for ‘Best Private Bank for Digital Assets’ and ‘Best Family Office Offering’ at the Global Private Banking Innovation Awards 2025. Coinciding with Giambattista Atzeni’s visit to Singapore, Giambattista not only joined the Awards dinner, but also featured on a panel at the Global Private Banker Summit earlier in the day.

As a double celebration, Bordier & Cie Singapore was also recognised as Best Boutique Private Bank at The Thirteenth WealthBriefingAsia Awards 2025 on 5th June. The judges found that Bordier Singapore “blends tradition with innovation—pioneering digital assets, expanding private market access, and leveraging AI to elevate client service”, acknowledging our position as “a boutique private bank in the truest sense of the word.”

These awards help us further establish Bordier & Cie as a leading Private Bank in Asia.

Refurbishing the Singapore office

The Singapore office started its renovations in May. When completed, visitors will be greeted by our new logo which will be boldly displayed on our door as visitors reach the 14th floor. The client hosting area will also sport our new logo.

A spectacular evening of art

We warmly welcomed 20 guests to an intimate dinner at the Opera Gallery Singapore on 24 April 2025. In collaboration with rare wine merchant, Corndale, guests were treated to a preview of the exhibition ‘Material & Form: Contemporary Art in South Korea’.

Showcasing the talents of seven distinguished Korean artists, the exhibition offered a broad perspective on contemporary South Korean art, structured along two key dimensions: material and form. The pieces explored themes of nature, transformation, and the human condition through diverse materials, from traditional hanji paper to welded iron chains and repurposed objects.

The exclusive event received high praise from our guests and we are pleased to have this opportunity to reconnect with our clients over such a setting.
