Private BankersTM Distinction

More than just a label, being a private banker is a registered trademark of only five selected banks.

The term ‘Private Banker’ can only be used by a bank organised in the legal form of a partnership or limited partnership with partners bearing unlimited personal liability for all the commitments entered into by their bank.

Private bankers invest their own capital in their business and are personally liable for its obligations. Expertise in wealth management and securities trading is at the heart of their activity. Often part of a banking lineage that has spanned the centuries, the private bankers possess a unique know-how in the world of wealth management.

While there is no dearth of private banking services amongst financial institutions, only a select few can truly label themselves as ‘Private Bankers’. At present, Bordier remains the largest Swiss private banker operating today.
